Braydens Rube Goldberg Machines

In class we have been working on Rube Goldberg Machines, the aim of the machines is to achieve the five steps before the marble reaches the bottom. Here is Brayden taking on board what we have been teaching him and setting up his own Rube Goldberg machine at home. It took him so long and he had to debug it time and time again. So amazing to see his persistence and debugging skills. Check out the final product! So amazing Brayden, we are so proud of you!

Rubbish Machines!

Check out some of our talented tamariki sharing their rubbish machines with you all. They are so creative!!! They worked together as a team to refine their ideas down to one, which needed to serve the purpose of picking up or cleaning up the rubbish problem we found around the school after lunchtimes. They are so brave getting in front of the camera and our special visitor (the rubbish expert) Craige! Check out what they are all about and what they have to say!

Potion Making Fun!

On Friday, we had our last rotation for Potion Making! We had so much fun making a small chemical reaction which became an explosion!! It looked so cool! Maybe Miss Fairbairn accidentally put too much food colouring in the eatable potions.. What do you think? Check out our tongues!! 

Friday's Superstars!

Check out these amazing superstars who got a certificate for their amazing efforts in the class. We are so proud of you all! There are some certificates in this amazing bunch of superstars which passed their independent learning programme run with our teacher aide! Wow!

Creative Stories

Today we had to write a story about what we would love to own as our pet, after reading the story about the pet dinosaur. Mikaela did an incredible job and used some amazing adjectives about her pretend pet Chimpanzee. Check her out reading in front of the whole class! See her story is attached too. Great job Mikaela!! I wonder if your Mum might let you get a pet Chimpanzee??

Maths Creations

Today in Maths we had so much fun. We didn't believe we were even doing any Maths! We made some cubes out of nets. We learnt all about what the tabs are for and why they are important for the shape to become its 3D self. We had a little trouble cutting and sticking the tabs down as the shape was so fragile but there were some amazing learning and problem solving. Check out some of our photos!

Machine Building Tuesday!

Today we got stuck into our hands on learning. We are in the process of making machines with all of our recycling you have kindly bought in. The machines are to help with the rubbish problem we noticed around the school. We are creating things that crunch, munch and recycle the rubbish we found! We have a couple more building sessions coming up so please continue to bring in your clean recycling materials which we are able to cut up and create machines out of! Thanks heaps!

Garden Explore

 Today a bunch of student had their 'Garden Explore' opt in! This was when they are able to explore around our outdoor classroom and in the vegetable garden. Today they found all sorts of vegetables they are wanting to into their dinners tonight. We also built a hut and had to share all of the equipment. It was so much fun!! Check out some of our photos!!
